It’s hard to believe we will be hosting our 3rd Annual Simple Bare Necessities 5k Fun Run, “Race for Dignity” on Saturday, October 21st at 8:30 a.m. located at Planet Fitness. This year’s fun run will be in collaboration with Longview ISD’s Health and Wellness 5k/10k Fun Run in memory of Mr. James Brewer. 

Over the last three years, Race for Dignity has seen tremendous growth as we have raised more than $30,000, allowing Simple Bare Necessities’ to further its mission of providing hygiene products to our youth to ensure a sense of security, dignity, and self-worth. 

Simple Bare Necessities, 501c(3) is a nonprofit that my sister and I started in 2020, and it exists to  enrich the lives of our community’s most deserving youth. The goal of Simple Bare Necessities is to  provide personal hygiene products to our children in need in the Longview Independent School District  to promote dignity and self-confidence. 

Since its inception, Simple Bare Necessities has grown from providing products to 300 children in 2020 to 1,900 this current school year. To-date, we have provided more than 8,500+ full-sized personal hygiene kits to students in the district. Furthermore, Simple Bare Necessities is proud to be selected as the first student created project to be offered across all 270 IB schools in the state speaking, to the very important need to fill the gap in public policy. 

The Race for Dignity is open to people of all ages from beginners to experienced runners, and 100% of the proceeds benefit Simple Bare Necessities and are tax-deductible.

The success of our upcoming “Race of Dignity” is crucial to the ongoing growth of Simple Bare Necessities’ mission of providing hygiene products for our youth to give them a sense of security, dignity, and self-worth. With your help, together we can accomplish this mission of building the future success of our children, and therefore our country.
